Here’s a little puggle that I just made!  The heart pattern is free and from K and J Dolls Blog.  I wish I knew how to make a smaller heart, though, because it would be cute to see the pug holding the heart between his paws!

Here is my pattern for my version of the pug puppy.

Finished measurements: 3 inches (7.5 cm) in height

Materials
No embroidery thread or safety eyes are needed.

  • Two yarn colors (beige and dark brown are the recommended colors)
  • 3.50 mm crochet hook
  • Fiberfill stuffing (for head and body)

Head
Using beige yarn…
R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2: 2 sc in every sc around. (12 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (18 sts)
R4: *Sc 2, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (24 sts)
R5: *Sc 3, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (30 sts)
R6: *Sc 4, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (36 sts)
R7-R16: Sc 36
R17: *Sc 4, dec 1*, rep 6 times. (30 sts)
R18: *Sc 3, dec 1*, rep 6 times. (24 sts)
R19: *Sc 2, dec 1*, rep 6 times. (18 sts)
R20: *Sc 1, dec 1*, rep 6 times. (12 sts)
Stuff head firmly.
R21: dec all around. (6 sts)
Fasten off; weave in loose end.

Eyes (make 2)
Using dark brown yarn…
4 Sc in magic ring. (4 sts)
Sl st into first st of R1, and then fasten off. Leave tail for attaching to head.

Ears (make 2)
Using dark brown yarn…
R1: ch 2, 3 sc in first ch.
R2: ch 1, turn, 3 sc across.
R3: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in second, 2 sc in last st. (5 sts)
Fasten off and leave tail to attach to head.

Nose
Using dark brown yarn…
R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2: 2 sc in every sc around. (12 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (18 sts)
Fasten off and leave tail to attach to face.

Body
Using beige yarn…

R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2: 2 sc in every sc around. (12 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, 2 sc in next sc*, rep 6 times. (18 sts)
R4-R7: Sc 18
Fasten off and leave long tail for attaching to head. Stuff with fiberfill.

Arms (make 2)
Using beige yarn…
R1: 4 sc in magic ring. (4 sts)
R2-3: Sc 4
R4: sl st into second sc of R3.
Fasten off and leave tail to attach to body.

Legs (make 2)
Using beige yarn…
R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2-4: Sc 6
R5: sl st into third sc of R4.
Fasten off and leave tail to attach to body.

Tail
Using beige yarn…
Ch 5
2 sc in 2nd ch from hook and each remaining ch
Leave tail to attach to body.

Construction
I would recommend attaching the nose, eyes, and ears to the head first.  Then, attach body-parts (arms, legs, and tail) to the body.  Lastly, attach the body to the head, and voila, you have a cute puggle ready for some cuddles!
